Il Podere Casa Picchiata is situated on the top of a hill bearing the same name, from which it enjoys a splendid view of the Orcia Valley and the surrounding hamlets, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, Rocca d’Orcia, San Quirico and Radicofani. 

The medieval building (which once belonged to the Piccolomini family) has recently been restored, taking great care to maintain its original character.

 Care has also been taken to ensure that all the appartments are equipped wit every comfort (central heating, air conditioning fireplace, hydroniassage etc.) Well-worn paths, spas and medieval hamlets entice you with offers of interesting excursions and tranquil stays in a unique and beautiful environment.  

Casa Picchiata is an idyllically situatedfarmhouse, which forms part of a nature reserve in the " Val d'Orcia ". One of it's immediate attractions is "Spedaletto"; a medieval castle, that is only 1.5 Km away. This castle is attributed to "Saint Maria della Scala di Siena", and it has a rich history which chronicles over 800 years of use. 

Whilst staying at Casa Picchiata, guest are welcome to share their meals with us - we cook with our fresh, home-grown produce.
